NWB is not just a band, but a family of some of the best musicians in America. Depending on which show, tour, or studio session, you will hear a diverse mix of talented individuals. NWB alumni include guitarists Mike Nugen, Rob McNelly, Chris Skrobot, and Chris Lute. On bass you may hear Molly Pauken, Jeff Ciampa, or Pat Edwards. As for drums, Randy Taylor, Tony McClung, Trey Landry, Jeff Peters, and Seth Earnest have all shared the studio or stage with Nathan.

Bred out of the classic singer/songwriter mold, Nathan Whitt combines his unique original material with the live performance of a soulful band and his trademark, danceable backbeat. Born in California and raised in Ohio, Nathan surrounds himself with an all-star band that includes session players and established pop/rock and r&b musicians. Together, they create an innovative musical formula that is a cross between pop/rock artists such as John Mayer and Gavin DeGraw and funk/jam bands like Robert Randolph and Little Feat. After five CD's and thousands of miles, the Nathan Whitt Band has showcased their act in major venues from Ohio to Florida, Colorado to New York, and many points in between covering 35 of the 50 states. Currently being sold and distributed by indie label Lick Records, "Combustible" is looking to follow-up on two previous hit singles from Nathan that have earned spots on national Top 40 charts. Nathan and the guys have performed or shared the stage with an eclectic mix of major artists such as Dave Matthews, O.A.R., Howie Day, Ekoostik Hookah, Derek Trucks, War, the Jazz Mandolin Project, Galactic and Little Feat, among many others. The Nathan Whitt Band appeals to diverse college crowds, jamband fans, and casual music listeners alike, bringing to the table a broad range of experience and exposure with different artists and styles. With five CD's under his belt, Nate is currently booking shows that allow he and the guys to enjoy what they do, without the pressure of impressing mangy, unappreciative bar owners looking for beer salesmen. The love of music keeps them going...period.

BLUE RUN
NATE AND GARY BURBANK'S GROUP

Radio's comedy legend, Gary Burbank, of 700 WLW's drive-time talk show for the past few decades has a new musical project. Known nationally for his characters Earl Pitts, Gilbert Gnarley, and Reverend Deuteronomy Scaggs, just to name a few, Gary has sold hundreds of thousands of copies of his hilarious sketch comedies. Still making people laugh all over the U.S. with his many characters, he has now turned much of his energy towards music. An accomplished drummer and guitar player, Gary has teamed up with Adams County native Nathan Whitt to create the musical group, Blue Run. Nathan, who has had two Top 40 hits and five CD's of his own, has toured the U.S. extensively for the past 15 years. These two met about ten years ago and have since become great friends as well as a dynamic songwriting team. Gary, with a deep history in the Missippi Delta Blues, together with Nathan, known for his unique Roots Rock sound, make for an eclectic mix of hard-driving blues and melodic, soulful rock, with a twist of country...they are both country boys at heart! Don't miss these two when they play in the music pavilion at Lewis Mountain's Olde Thyme Herb Fair, both Saturday (10/11) and Sunday (10/12) at 1:00 pm. (Proceeds for their portion of the show will go to Play It Forward, an organization started by Mr. Burbank to benefit Cincinnati area musicians and their families during catastrophic illness.)

NW AND GARY BURBANK / PLAY IT FORWARD

Nate and Mr. Burbank, along with many others, have been working on a project that should go a long way to helping the plight of musicians in the Cincinnati area. Play It Forward is an organization that Gary has developed to benefit Cincinnati musicians and their families in times of need. Tim and Larry Goshorn, Marcos Sastre, Noah Hunt, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd are just a few of the musicians that will take part in this monumental if not national push to provide at least some level of protection for musicians and their families who often go unnoticed in times of need. Nate is proud to be part of such a worthy endeavor, and hopes everyone will support the project anyway possible.

FADE TO BLACK ON JOHNNY CASH TRIBUTE

Tommy Cash, the younger brother of Johnny Cash, is about to record a song co-written by Nate. The song "Fade to Black" was inspired by a songwriting session that he and Tommy had in early December '06. The song is to be the signature song on a Johnny Cash tribute CD. Nate says, "What an honor it is to have Mr. Cash perform and record a song that I believe really captures the essence of Tommy and Johnny's life. I'm very proud to have "Fade to Black" chosen for the tribute album, and to get to be part of the recording. It is definitely a highlight of my career." The tribute album is being recorded currently, and we will provide a release date as soon as it is announced. Very Cool.

CHIEF'S TALE REUNION SHOW A HUGE HIT!

For those of you that were there, we can't thank you enough. If you weren't, we'll see you at the next one. NWB had the privilege of opening for CT that perfect September night, and what a night it was! Opening act the Rubber Knife Gang was absolutely monstrous with some of the best Bluegrass music ever mowed. We took the stage for about an hour with Billy Rock from Chief's Tale on drums and had a few out of body experiences. Then CT took the stage for a few hours of sweet original jams that transcended more than a decade of history for the crowd full of fans and friends. What a privilege it was to be among the love. We'll see you at the next one...rumor has it, it'll be 9/13/08...but no confirmation as of yet. Keep in touch.

NATRON SAYS

"The showcase that was held at Nashville's famous Bluebird Cafe was very inspirational for me. With a standing-room-only crowd that was virtually silent throughout the set, I was completely in my element. You could hear a pin drop between breaths during a very powerful version of "Princes and Thieves," followed by a lava like version of "Anticipation" with each phrase dripping like molten rock from the speakers, just as I've always envisioned that song being performed. I kept smiling at the crowd between phrases while thinking to myself, 'I can't believe everyone's actually listening...what a concept. That club is where god goes when he needs to remember why he created music. It's my newest church, and I plan to worship every chance I get."

NWB AT THE BLUEBIRD

We're playing a showcase at the historic Bluebird Cafe' www.bluebirdcafe.com in Nashville on December 3rd. Many labels and publishers are invited, so we hope to have a diverse crowd of music industry folks listening to our tunes. This club has a great reputation for artists being 'discovered', so keep an eye out for more news to come from this showcase.

LIVE IN KEY WEST DISC RELEASE!

The live disc that was recorded on the NWB Spring Break '06 tour is now available! It came out just in time for the Spring Break '07 tour.
